Ahoy! Ready to chart a course for new adventures? The Sea of Thieves PS5 Closed Beta drops anchor this weekend, offering a chance to try out this swashbuckling multiplayer hit and even snag some exclusive PlayStation-themed rewards.

Beta Basics

The Sea of Thieves PS5 beta sets sail on April 12th at 7 PM AEST and runs until April 15th at 7 PM AEST. To gain access, you only need to pre-order any version of the game on the PlayStation Store.

Dive in during the beta, and you’ll unlock the Dauntless Adventurer sails and title when the full PS5 version launches on April 30th – a swanky way to show off your PlayStation pirate pride.

The PS5 Advantage

Sea of Thieves has been a hit on Xbox and PC, and the PS5 version aims to deliver the ultimate pirate experience. Expect stunning 4K visuals running at a smooth 60FPS, or crank it up to 120Hz mode on compatible displays for ultra-responsive action.

Plus, the DualSense controller’s haptics and adaptive triggers will let you feel the rumble of every cannon blast and the tension of the rigging in your hands. No headset? No problem! The DualSense’s built-in mic and speaker mean you can easily strategise with your crew.

Veteran Pirates, Take Note

If you’re already a seasoned Sea of Thieves sailor on another platform, you’re in luck! Thanks to the Microsoft account sign-in, your pirate progress and most of your hard-earned cosmetics will transfer seamlessly. Some of your achievements will even automatically pop up on PS5, with new ones sure to be added for fresh challenges.

Sea of Thieves offers something different for your crew. This beta is a perfect chance to see if the pirate life is for you and test the waters before the full release. Those exclusive cosmetics are a fun bonus, letting you rep your PlayStation pride on the high seas. Sea of Thieves’ blend of open-world exploration, ship combat, and treasure hunting could be a hilarious new addition to your game nights.
